When a mysterious meteor crashes to Earth, strange artefacts known as Arks are discovered. These powerful objects grant the ability to control gravity, and soon, a shadowy corporate force known as Meteotech begins unleashing autonomous robots across the globe. Sonic and his crew are drawn into the chaos, embarking on a race to uncover the truth behind the Arks and stop the uprising. But they aren’t alone—Jet the Hawk and the Babylon Rogues are back, and they’ve got their eyes on the Arks as well.

Players race through a variety of dynamic environments, from glistening space stations and industrial megacities to lush green landscapes. With the power of gravity on their side, racers can perform incredible stunts, take shortcuts in mid-air and redefine the flow of each track. The story unfolds through two main campaigns—Hero and Babylon—each offering different perspectives on the unfolding conflict and the mysterious origins of the gravity technology.
